This course provides a pathway to the primary trades in the construction industry with the exception ofplumbing. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through an Australian Apprenticeship and this course allows for inclusion of skills suited for entry to off-site occupations, such as joinery as well as carpentry, bricklaying, and other occupations in general construction.
This qualification is designed to introduce learners to the recognised trade callings in the construction industry and provide meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship.
The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that are required in most Certificate III qualifications. The elective options are structured to allow choice from areas of trade skills as an introduction to a range of occupations
The face-to-face learning for this unit of course will be conducted at various locations across the NT, as determined by the requirements of the student.
AEA Training Pty Ltd offer this course in a total of 320 hours over 14 weeks.
There are no formal academic requirements for this course, however AEA Training Pty Ltd requires that all students:
Students completing CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways (Remote Area Building) may continue their studies by enrolling in a number of qualifications. These may include:
Post-graduate employment pathways include job titles such as labourer
Training and assessment is conducted at the student’s workplace, community or AEA Training facility. Students must attend the training for the prescribed number of hours for their allocated days of the week and receive face to face training. The trainer/assessor will utilise the resources in the workplace or Community to facilitate the training and assessment of the student. Students complete learning activities in class to prepare them for the summative assessments that follow.
Students must demonstrate that they have the required knowledge and then undertake the written assessment; once they have satisfactorily completed the written assessment, they are allowed to move into the simulated environment where they are required to demonstrate their practical skills
There are 5 core units and 5 elective units a total of 10 units of competency as listed below for this qualification. AEA Training have selected theses electives on the advice of industry consultation. Students wishing to select other electives, need to advise AEA Training prior to enrolment.
